Greenock Juniors End The Season In Style Thanks To Sponsors Safer Group
Players, coaches and officials of football club Greenock Juniors FC enjoyed their biggest ever annual presentation celebration, thanks to sponsorship from Safer Group.
The event at the Greenock Town Hall was fully funded by the company which was founded in 2016 by Greenock entrepreneur Ryan Clark. The business, which recently opened new headquarters, specialises in protecting construction sites, infrastructure and assets with its high-tech intruder detection systems, known as Safer PODs.
Ryan is passionate about improving opportunities for Inverclyde people; as well as Greenock Juniors, Safer Group also sponsors MMA fighter Reece McEwan, Greenock Boxing Club and the local jiu-jitzu club.
Greenock Juniors’ chairman Tommy Sutherland opened the event by addressing the 300-strong audience, with host Ross McWilliams then leading the evening’s proceedings.
Ryan told the audience his inspiring story of starting and growing Safer Group into one of the area’s most successful businesses, while reaffirming his support and dedication to the Inverclyde community.
Chris Paul, chief executive and founder of Greenock Juniors’s charity partner Man On Inverclyde entertained and stirred the emotions of the audience as he showcased the work the charity is doing.
He also highlighted training sessions being offered to a new Greenock Juniors 2009s age group squad, led by Greenock-born footballer Nicky Low.
Reaching the high point of the evening, the awards were then presented to First Goalscorer, Players’ Player and Player of the Year from each of the club’s five age groups — under-16, under-17, under-18, under-20 and senior.
The most prestigious award of Senior Player of the Year was presented to Declan Black, with a special Young Player of the Year award given to Travis Stracey.
The audience enjoyed a delicious street food selection of burgers, pulled pork and mac ‘n’ cheese before a performance from former Scottish Comedian of the Year, Rosco McClelland.
Ryan Clark, CEO of Safer Group stated:
"Safer Group sponsors several Inverclyde sportspeople and clubs that are making a positive difference to local people’s lives.
Greenock Juniors share the values I appreciate most – community engagement, passion and progress – so we were pleased to be able to give something back by sponsoring their annual celebration.
The event was a great success and I enjoyed meeting everyone involved with the club, right down to the young upcoming talent in the junior squads.
By continuing to invest in sports and community clubs, as well as creating more jobs as Safer Group grows, we hope to keep making a positive impact in the Inverclyde area"
