QTS – Kirkconnel
CCTV & Security Solution.
Background
QTS is one of the country’s leading railway contractors that provides specialist services such as vegetation management, drainage services, fencing, training, civil engineering, earthworks, geotechnical services, industrial rope access and specialist plant hire. QTS contacted Safer Scotland to provide security for one of their sites, based in Kirkonnel, and gave an overview to what was required
Solution
We arranged for one of our engineers to go out and survey the site to allow us to provide the client with a proposal of our recommended safety measures. This included ahigh definition 24 hour CCTV, vehicle number plate recognition, onsite HD display installed in site managers office, as well as access to the system on own personal devices which can be logged into at any time.
Benefits
This type of technology allowed QTS the peace of mind that the site was protected 24 hours a day, with full access to the camera visuals for authorised personnel. The cameras provided high quality digital images that were able to be reviewed at any time, meaning if there were any security breaches, we would be able to clearly see who, or what, triggered the activation. The vehicle number plate recognition also gave the opportunity to see if there were any unauthorised vehicles accessing the site.
Results
All vehicles, visitors and contractors had to be signed in and logged accordingly. The team advised us when people will be on and off the site, to allow us to adjust our security systems to ensure that the site is still closely monitored when no one is on site at the end of the working day.
By allowing the site manager to also access the CCTV footage at their own convenience, it gave QTS further peace of mind that the site was protected 24 hours a day to avoid any loss or damage to property.
