We're extremely proud of having been awarded an A rating from Alectro for our ESG efforts! The Alectro Climate Clarity Score reflects a company's commitment to sustainability, based on 6 categories that are weighed in and accumulated as a final score.
Supply Chain Sustainability
Our fleet of vehicles is part of a comprehensive scheme, CO2 Count, run by Fuelcard Services in partnership with Cool Earth.
This programme allows us to trace and offset emissions while receiving quarterly reports to track progress. In addition, all vehicle routes are optimised for efficiency, and we’ve introduced employee EV schemes, aiming for a fully electric fleet in the near future.
We’re proud to have achieved the Supply Chain Sustainability School Silver level, a testament to our dedication to embedding green practices across our operations.
Our products are designed with sustainability at their core. From solar-powered Safer POD® devices to energy-efficient CCTV systems, we’re reducing emissions and operational costs while lessening our environmental impact. By incorporating solar power, we’ve cut down on site visits required for battery changes, lowering the carbon footprint of our operations.
We’ve installed automatic motion-detect lighting in our manufacturing hub, significantly reducing unnecessary energy consumption. By transitioning to cloud-based data hosting and minimising paper usage, we’re cutting waste and making impactful changes that help lower our carbon footprint while promoting more efficient operations.
Safer Group operate an official recycling policy in all of our offices, ensuring our staff dispose of waste in an appropriate manner. This extends to our suppliers. For instance, the inner workings of our Safer POD® devices are delivered prefabricated and ready for install - reducing unnecessary packaging waste associated with the delivery of individual components.
Small Steps, Big Impact
From providing reusable Ocean Bottles for all staff – helping prevent 11.368kg of ocean-bound plastic per bottle – to cutting unnecessary resource use, Safer Group embraces every opportunity to create meaningful change.
We have partnered up with a carbon-neutral gas and renewable energy provider to reduce our impact and measure our consumption. Our smart metering solutions allow us to understand our energy consumption patterns by accurately measuring usage real-time, allowing us to optimise our operations. These small steps add up to big wins for the environment.
